Hello!

I’m Linda Cannon, an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, practicing in Castro Valley and online through Doxy.Me.*  I serve children, teens and adults with dysfunctional orofacial myofunctional problems, using individualized exercises designed to normalize oral rest postures, and restore healthy neuromuscular functions.                                                                                                                                                           I completed my Dental Hygiene degree at Chabot College, then practiced in private dental offices for    many years. Later, I seized the opportunity to enter the Public Health field, where I served babies, children and their families in the Alameda County WIC program, and public schools in Hayward, Oakland and Berkeley.
During that time, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the Oregon Institute of Technology, where I learned about, and became utterly fascinated with Myofunctional Therapy. What a shock to realize that several members of my family and myself did have Orofacial Myofunctional disorders, and that they were root-causes of number of our life-long health problems!
I have since completed Myofunctional Therapy programs with both the AOMT, and the IAOM,      and continue expanding and updating my training with both ongoing courses and mentorship groups. I believe life-long learning is essential for the optimal treatment of my clients, as this field is constantly expanding.
